Featured Musician of our June 17th, 2018 / 3pm event will be pianist Dr. Stephanie Weaver. Our event will resume in Brewster the First Parish Brewster UU Church.

A native of Canada, pianist Stephanie Weaver

began her studies through the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, under the tutelage of Maida Campbell and Rivoli Iesularo. She received her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in piano performance and literature from the University of Western Ontario and her Doctor of Musical Arts, also in piano performance and literature, from Michigan State University under the tutelage of John Paul Bracey, Yong Hi Moon, Deborah Moriarty and Ralph Votapek. She has served on the faculties of Michigan State University, the University of Michigan, Grand Valley State University and Concordia University. Dr. Weaver has performed as a soloist and collaborative pianist extensively in Canada and the United States and has been a prizewinner in a number of competitions, including the Canadian Music Competition, Chamber Music Division. In addition, she has been a featured ensemble artist on Radio Western and CBC, in performances with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra and others. She has also been awarded numerous academic scholarships, including the William S. Wyatt Scholarship, the UWO Entrance Scholarship and the TRW Academic Division Scholarship Award. She has served as an adjudicator for numerous organizations, including the MASTA Chamber Music Festival, MMTA and the American Guild of Music. She has been the collaborative pianist for the Falmouth Chorale since 2012, and recently performed Beethoven’s Fourth piano Concerto with the Falmouth Chamber Players, both under the direction of John Yankee. Since 2011, she has been the Managing Director of the Cape Conservatory, following the 2010 merger of the Cape Symphony and Conservatory. She was previously the Executive Director of the Ann Arbor School for the Performing Arts, one of 800 educational centers across the nation affiliated with the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts. Weaver’s ongoing mission is to make the arts more accessible to students of all ages and to make the Conservatory a continual source of inspiration—inside the classroom and out in the community. In addition to her musical pursuits, she is an avid ice hockey player.
